Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the impact recovery has on muscle growth and tissue repair.
  2. Recognize the fact that you cannot out-train a bad diet nor under-sleep good training.
  3. Identify the minimum hours of sleep needed nightly and the impact sleep loss has on injury risk.
  4. Practice appropriate technique for recovery and power napping.
  5. Evaluate the impact on the immune system and the effect on injury and infection rates during periods of poor rest and recovery.
  6. Consider the impact of technology (blue light, distraction, etc) on sleep, rest and recovery.
