Digital Tools & Software Use Policy

Critical Reload, LLC

Effective Date: November 1, 2026

Critical Reload provides digital tools, educational platforms, and software-based resources designed to help athletes, parents, coaches, and schools make more informed decisions about sports nutrition, fueling, recovery, and performance.

This policy explains the permitted use, limitations, privacy considerations, and responsibilities associated with those resources.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Digital Tools & Software Use Policy applies to Critical Reload’s proprietary web-based applications, interactive calculators, fueling planners, educational software, and related digital tools, including:

This policy also applies to relevant software functionality provided through Critical Reload’s educational programs, subscriptions, and institutional services.

This policy supplements our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, Subscription & Digital Access Policy, and Intellectual Property & AI Use Policy.

Specific purchase agreements, institutional licenses, and product-specific terms may establish additional conditions. Nothing in this policy overrides rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

2. Permitted Use and Access

Critical Reload grants authorized users a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable permission to access and use its digital tools for their intended personal, educational, coaching, and authorized institutional purposes, subject to applicable agreements and law.

Athletes, parents, coaches, and schools may use our publicly available tools to support nutrition education, fueling decisions, and planning.

Permitted activities generally include:

  • Generating educational nutrition estimates and fueling recommendations.

  • Using educational outputs for personal planning and coaching discussions.

  • Sharing individual results with athletes, parents, or other authorized participants.

  • Using publicly available tools in school-based nutrition education and team discussions.

  • Accessing paid digital resources within the scope of the applicable purchase or institutional license.

Access to a free public tool does not grant ownership of its software or permission to commercially reproduce the tool.

Certain features may require registration, payment, or additional authorization.

3. Sports Nutrition Calculator

The Critical Reload Sports Nutrition Calculator is designed to provide age-appropriate educational nutrition estimates for individuals ages 8–80, including youth and adolescent athletes.

The Calculator helps users better understand daily fueling, energy needs, hydration, macronutrient intake, and recovery considerations.

Calculations may consider user-provided information, including:

  • Age and relevant physical characteristics.

  • Body size and weight.

  • Physical activity and training demands.

  • Nutritional goals.

  • Other information necessary to produce educational estimates.

Age is used to apply appropriate calculation parameters and determine whether additional parental involvement is required.

The Calculator also uses available age information to determine eligibility for certain services and promotional communications, with the objective of restricting marketing to eligible adult users.

3.1 Age-Appropriate Calculations

Nutritional needs change throughout childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.

The Calculator applies different calculation parameters where appropriate to account for age-related differences and other relevant factors.

Results are estimates based on the information provided and the methods used by the application.

Actual nutritional needs vary according to growth, maturation, activity, environmental conditions, medical considerations, and individual circumstances.

3.2 Parent or Guardian Handoff

When a user identifies as under 13, the Calculator stops the child’s interaction and directs further participation to a parent or legal guardian before additional information is entered.

This safeguard is intended to encourage appropriate adult participation when generating nutrition recommendations for younger athletes.

Additional privacy and consent obligations may apply depending on the information collected or processed.

3.3 Calculator Limitations

The Calculator is not intended to diagnose nutritional deficiencies, prescribe medical treatment, or replace an individualized assessment by a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian.

Users and supervising adults are responsible for reviewing the accuracy of information entered and interpreting results appropriately.

4. Fueling Window Planner

The Critical Reload Fueling Window Planner provides educational food and beverage recommendations based on restaurant, convenience-store, and travel-stop options and the timing of athletic activity.

Users may select dining categories, locations, and fueling windows, including:

  • Breakfast.

  • Pre-workout.

  • Pre-game.

  • Post-game.

Recommendations are intended to help users understand how fueling choices may change depending on the timing and demands of athletic activity.

4.1 Registration and Interactive Features

The Planner may collect registration information, including names, email addresses, user roles, and optional school group codes or organization names.

Users may also submit requests for additional restaurant or convenience-store locations.

The Planner allows voluntary feedback concerning the usefulness, practicality, and relevance of recommendations.

This information supports service functionality, user assistance, and improvements to the educational experience.

Details regarding data collection and processing appear in Section 7 and in our Privacy Policy.

4.2 Restaurant and Third-Party Information

Restaurant and third-party food information may change.

Menus, ingredients, nutritional values, portions, preparation methods, prices, and product availability may differ by location and change without notice.

Critical Reload does not guarantee that third-party menu information is complete, current, or free from error.

Users should independently verify relevant information with the restaurant or food provider before ordering.

4.3 Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

Food allergies and dietary restrictions require particular care.

The Fueling Window Planner does not guarantee that a recommended meal is free from allergens, cross-contact, or ingredients unsuitable for an individual’s dietary needs.

Users with food allergies, medical dietary restrictions, or other specific nutritional requirements should confirm ingredients and preparation practices directly with the food provider and consult qualified professionals when appropriate.

4.4 Third-Party Brands and Restaurants

References to restaurants, trademarks, menu items, and third-party brands are provided for educational and informational purposes.

Such references do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation unless expressly identified.

5. Educational Information — Not Medical Advice

Critical Reload’s digital tools are intended for general educational and informational purposes.

They do not establish a healthcare provider-patient relationship and are not substitutes for professional medical evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, or individualized clinical nutrition guidance.

Nutrition and performance outcomes are not guaranteed.

Athletes and families should seek qualified professional guidance when managing medical conditions, eating disorders, food allergies, or other circumstances requiring individualized care.

Digital tool recommendations should not be used as the sole basis for medical decisions or mandatory dietary requirements.

For additional information, review our Disclaimer.

6. Use by Minors and Parental Involvement

Critical Reload provides educational sports nutrition tools intended to support athletes, parents, coaches, and schools, including youth and adolescent athletes.

Different digital tools may have different age-related access requirements and parental safeguards.

6.1 Sports Nutrition Calculator

The Sports Nutrition Calculator is designed for individuals ages 8–80.

When a user identifies as under 13, the Calculator stops the child’s interaction and directs further participation to a parent or legal guardian before additional information is entered.

Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing educational recommendations and determining whether the information is appropriate for their child’s individual circumstances.

Age information may also be used to determine eligibility for services and promotional communications.

6.2 Fueling Window Planner

The Fueling Window Planner collects certain registration information, including names, email addresses, and user roles.

Critical Reload intends to implement age screening that prevents children under 13 from registering independently and directs them to a parent-managed registration process.

Until those safeguards are implemented and verified, the Planner should not be considered to have an automated parent-handoff or age-verification mechanism.

Critical Reload’s intended registration approach is to have parents or legal guardians provide their own registration information when using the Planner to support children under 13.

Where applicable law requires verifiable parental consent or additional safeguards, a parent-managed registration process alone may not satisfy those requirements.

6.3 Users Ages 13–17

Eligible users ages 13–17 may access certain Critical Reload educational resources, subject to applicable service restrictions, parental or guardian involvement, and legal requirements.

Critical Reload uses available age information to determine marketing eligibility and restrict promotional communications to eligible adult users.

Where age information is unavailable, eligibility must be determined through appropriate registration, consent, or other safeguards before age-restricted marketing occurs.

6.4 Parents, Guardians, and Schools

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children’s use of eligible digital tools and reviewing educational recommendations.

Coaches and authorized school personnel may use these tools for educational purposes, subject to applicable school policies, privacy requirements, and parental consent obligations.

School authorization does not automatically replace parental consent when consent is required by law.

6.5 Educational Limitations

Digital tool outputs should not be the sole basis for medical decisions, mandatory dietary requirements, or determinations about an athlete’s eligibility to participate in sports.

Critical Reload’s tools provide educational guidance and do not replace individualized medical or clinical nutrition advice.

7. User Information and Privacy

Critical Reload’s digital tools may collect or process information necessary to provide educational recommendations, manage access, respond to requests, evaluate functionality, and improve the user experience.

Information collected depends on the particular tool and the features a user chooses to access.

7.1 Information Provided by Users

The Fueling Window Planner may collect the following information:

Identity and role information: First name, last name, email address, selected user role (Parent, Athlete, Coach, Athletic Director, or Other), and optional school group code or organization name.

Interactive tool selections: Dining category, restaurant or travel-stop selections, fueling timing windows, and related choices used to generate recommendations.

Location requests: Restaurant or gas station names, requested stop types, optional city and state, and optional notes submitted through the Request a Location feature.

Voluntary feedback: Helpfulness ratings, responses about whether users would realistically order recommended meals, selected barriers, and optional written comments.

The Sports Nutrition Calculator may request age, physical characteristics, activity levels, and other information necessary to generate educational nutrition estimates.

Users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive personal information or information about another individual without appropriate authorization.

7.2 Automated and Technical Information

The Fueling Window Planner and related website services may process technical and interaction information, including:

Pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers: Browser- or device-stored identifiers used to manage free-preview access, recognize returning sessions, and reduce duplicate feedback prompts.

Interaction and usage information: Tool selections, completion timestamps, search-matching events, recommendation-render events, and returning visitor session counts.

Website analytics: Browser and device characteristics, operating-system information, referral information, session activity, and page engagement measurements collected through Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Technical identifiers may constitute personal information under applicable privacy laws even when they do not directly contain a user’s name or email address.

Google Analytics and other website technologies may process technical request information and use cookies or similar identifiers, subject to applicable settings, consent requirements, and relevant provider practices.

Critical Reload may collect website usage statistics through analytics services, including approximate geographic location (such as city, state, or country), device type, operating system, browser type, referral source, and page interactions. Critical Reload uses this information to understand website traffic, evaluate digital tool performance, and improve the user experience. Reports may be reviewed in aggregated form without directly identifying individual visitors.

7.3 How Information Is Used

Critical Reload may use information collected through its digital tools for purposes including:

  • Providing requested nutrition estimates and fueling recommendations.

  • Applying age-appropriate nutrition calculation parameters.

  • Managing registration, access, and free-preview limitations.

  • Determining eligibility for services and promotional communications.

  • Directing younger users to appropriate parental or guardian involvement.

  • Responding to location requests, questions, and voluntarily submitted feedback.

  • Improving recommendation quality, functionality, usability, and educational resources.

  • Measuring tool engagement, technical performance, and usage trends.

  • Providing necessary service-related and transactional communications.

  • Protecting the security and integrity of its services.

7.4 Email Communications and Marketing Eligibility

Email addresses collected through the Fueling Window Planner may be used for service delivery, relevant beta-testing feedback inquiries, and transactional or administrative communications.

Promotional marketing emails are sent only when users have provided the applicable affirmative marketing consent.

Critical Reload uses available age information to help determine whether a user is eligible to receive promotional communications.

Its intended practice is to restrict marketing communications to eligible adult users.

Users may unsubscribe from marketing communications through the instructions provided in those messages.

Consent to receive marketing messages is separate from acceptance of the terms required to use a digital tool.

Sports Nutrition Calculator — Email and Report Privacy

The Sports Nutrition Calculator offers optional email submission only to users ages 18 and older. When an adult voluntarily provides an email address, that information is transmitted to FunnelKit for the requested communication and, where separately authorized, promotional marketing.

Users ages 8–17 follow a no-email pathway. The Calculator does not request or transmit their email addresses to FunnelKit through that pathway.

Nutrition reports generated by the Calculator remain on the user’s device and are not uploaded to Critical Reload’s servers or transmitted to FunnelKit through the report-generation process.

7.5 Children’s Information and Age-Related Safeguards

For children under 13, the Sports Nutrition Calculator directs participation to a parent or legal guardian through its age-based safeguards before additional information is entered.

The Fueling Window Planner has separate registration requirements. Its proposed under-13 registration restrictions and parent-managed process are described in Section 6.2.

Critical Reload’s handling of children’s personal information is subject to applicable privacy laws, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), where applicable.

The presence of a parent-handoff function does not independently establish that every parental consent or privacy requirement has been satisfied.

7.6 Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

Critical Reload does not sell, rent, or trade user behavioral data or personal information for the purpose of monetizing customer lists.

Certain information may be processed by service providers that support:

  • Website hosting and technical functionality.

  • Website analytics and performance measurement.

  • Email and service communications.

  • Registration and customer management.

  • Security and fraud prevention.

  • Other authorized operational services.

Certain advertising or analytics technologies may also involve disclosures that qualify as sharing or a sale of personal information under applicable privacy laws, even when no monetary payment is received.

The applicable classification depends on the technologies used, the information disclosed, and relevant legal definitions.

Additional information regarding service providers, disclosures, and applicable user rights is provided in our Privacy Policy.

7.7 Privacy Policy, Cookies, and Data Retention

Further information about personal information collection, processing, storage, retention, disclosure, and available privacy rights is provided in our Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies, browser identifiers, analytics, and related technologies is provided in our Cookie Policy.

Retention periods and deletion practices depend on the information collected, the purposes for which it is processed, applicable service arrangements, and legal requirements.

Users should review these policies before providing personal information.

The use of a digital tool does not necessarily require creation of a Critical Reload account. Registration requirements depend on the particular tool or service.

7.8 Children’s Privacy and Parental Rights

Critical Reload recognizes that certain digital tools may be used to support youth and adolescent athletes.

Our tools have different age-related access and registration requirements, as explained in Section 6.

Parents and guardians may contact Critical Reload to ask questions about the collection and use of their children’s information and to exercise applicable privacy rights, including requests to review or delete personal information and restrict further collection or use.

To submit a request, contact [email protected].

Critical Reload may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of individuals making privacy requests, consistent with applicable law.

Additional information about information collection, third-party processing, retention, parental rights, and consent requirements is provided in our Privacy Policy.

For information about cookies, browser identifiers, and analytics, see our Cookie Policy.

Where required by applicable law, Critical Reload will provide additional notices or obtain appropriate parental consent before collecting personal information from children.

8. Ownership and Intellectual Property

Critical Reload and its applicable licensors retain ownership of their proprietary software, original interfaces, protected content, source code, nonpublic algorithms, instructional frameworks, and related intellectual property.

Access to a digital tool does not transfer ownership of its underlying technology.

Users may not, except as authorized by law or a written agreement:

  • Reproduce or redistribute proprietary software.

  • Sublicense or commercially exploit protected technology.

  • Circumvent access restrictions or security measures.

  • Create unauthorized competing copies of protected software or content.

  • Extract protected software or content for unauthorized commercial exploitation.

Users may apply the general educational knowledge obtained from authorized use of our tools.

Additional protections, permitted uses, and restrictions relating to licensed content, institutional access, automated extraction, and artificial intelligence are described in our Intellectual Property & AI Use Policy.

Unauthorized activities include:

  • Attempting to gain access to restricted systems or accounts.

  • Bypassing reasonable security measures.

  • Distributing malicious code.

  • Conducting automated activities that materially disrupt the services.

  • Circumventing registration, preview, or access restrictions without authorization.

Automated access, extraction, or commercial reuse of protected software and data is subject to applicable licensing restrictions, contractual permissions, and legal exceptions.

Critical Reload may take proportionate steps to prevent abuse and protect its services, consistent with applicable law and contractual obligations.

10. Availability, Updates, and Modifications

Critical Reload may update its digital tools to improve functionality, revise calculations, correct errors, maintain security, or reflect new educational information.

Features and third-party data sources may change over time.

Although Critical Reload endeavors to maintain reliable services, uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

Some tools may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, hosting interruptions, or third-party service failures.

Material changes affecting paid access remain subject to applicable purchase agreements and consumer-protection requirements.

11. Paid Products and Institutional Access

Some Critical Reload resources are publicly available without charge, while others require a purchase, subscription, or institutional license.

Paid access, authorized users, renewal arrangements, cancellation rights, and applicable refund conditions are governed by the terms disclosed at purchase and relevant agreements.

Fixed-term paid trials do not automatically renew or convert into recurring subscriptions unless a separate purchase or authorization expressly establishes a recurring arrangement.

Institutional access may be subject to separately executed school, district, or organizational agreements.

Additional information is available in our Subscription & Digital Access Policy.

12. Accuracy and Responsibility

Critical Reload makes reasonable efforts to provide useful, research-informed educational guidance, but does not warrant that every calculation, recommendation, or third-party data point will be accurate or appropriate for every user.

Users are responsible for assessing outputs in context and verifying information when necessary.

Parents and guardians are responsible for exercising appropriate judgment when applying educational recommendations to children in their care.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Critical Reload disclaims responsibility for losses arising solely from reliance on inaccurate or outdated user-entered or third-party information.

Nothing in this policy excludes liability or limits consumer rights where doing so would be prohibited by law.
